This client had multiple offline databases, which they wanted to leverage online. The sites were redesigned to give visibility to the three primary databases- florists, products and flowers. The idea was to create 'the yellow pages of the florist industry' and so it was imperative to give people lots of search options to suit different needs. A simple file upload facility was set up to enable the client to easily synchronise off line and on line databases.

The challenge: To provide as many search options as possible [allowing people to choose how they want to search rather than giving them predefined search options] whist minimising the load on the database so that search results would appear quickly and were relevant, even if complex searches were carried out.
